Ed Sheeran, Drake & The Weeknd Dominate Apple Music's Top 500 Streamed Songs of the Decade
Apple Music has unveiled its Top 500 Most Streamed Songs of All Time, and unsurprisingly, the chart reflects a decade dominated by pop, R&B, and hip-hop heavyweights — led by Ed Sheeran, The Weeknd, and Drake.
At the top of the list is Sheeran’s “Shape of You,” which holds the distinction of being the most-streamed song globally on Apple Music. Since its release in 2017, the track has reached No. 1 on the platform’s all-genre Top Songs chart in over 100 countries, spending more than 1,000 days in the top spot somewhere in the world. It also set the record for most first-day streams for a pop song in Apple Music’s history.
Coming in at No. 2 is The Weeknd’s blockbuster hit “Blinding Lights.” The track didn’t just dominate radio — it spent more than 180 days in the Top 10 of Apple Music’s Global Daily Top 100 and helped cement The Weeknd as the artist with the most R&B/soul entries on the list, racking up nine appearances overall.
Meanwhile, Drake’s “God’s Plan” takes the No. 3 spot and earns the title of most-streamed hip-hop track on the platform. Overall, Drake holds the crown as the most-represented artist on the list, with a staggering 27 songs making the cut — more than any other act.
